A Pakistani court has sentenced to former president Pervez Musharraf in the high treason case against him

The special court, supervised by Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth chose the high treason case with a 2-1 split verdict against former president Pervez Musharraf.

The court will issue a full verdict within 48 hours. The former president Pervez Musharraf is currently in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The high treason trial for forcing the state of emergency on Nov 3, 2007, had been pending since December 2013. Former president Pervez Musharraf was indicted on March 31, 2014.

He is presently admitted at a hospital in Dubai in a serious medical condition.

Earlier, former president Pervez Musharraf consented to record his statement under section 342 in breach of constitution case against him.

A counsel of Ex-army chief submitted a petition in the special court today.
