Love in Contract: Short Review

k drama

Love In Contract starts with Choi Sang-eun having dinner with her husband, Jung Ji-ho. However, soon after dinner, she takes his leave and proceeds to meet another man in the morning. Sang-eun runs a business called ‘Single Life Helper’ which provides wife services to unmarried men. Dealing with nasty clients and befriending a few, it’s a nice nod for the business romance Queen, however not very exciting. Her roommate is a gay man who is an ex-client and that’s about as challenging as the show gets in the first episode.

Jung Ji Ho is the one with the potential to make the show keep floating as he takes on the mysterious role of someone who deals with law and has enough money to hire Choi Sang Eun’s services for five years. Jung Ji-ho is a little strange but working with him feels like a holiday to Sang-Eun. Ji-ho barely talks and always cooks delicious meals for Sang-Eun. He is the only client that Sang-Eun has been meeting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the past 5 years.

Sang-eun finishes her final assignment and gets relaxed but Gwang-nam reminds her that she hasn’t informed Jung Ji-ho about her retirement yet. Sang-eun has gotten used to Ji-ho and finds it difficult to tell him the truth. However, after grasping the reality, she understands that the most useful gift that she can give to her client is to leave him so that he can start living a normal life.

Love In Contract gave us a Romantic Comedy would ask for. Park Min-young is back again with a new series in her metier genre and she never loses to deliver. Her character Sang-Eun is fascinating but, her profession sounds a bit risky. Jung-Ji-ho, and Kang- Hae-jin, these two men in her life with two totally separate stories will be good to watch.
