Ghilaf-e-Kaaba changing tradition continued at Masjid al-Haram

The annual tradition to change the Ghilaf-e-Kaaba held on Saturday at the Masjid-Al-Haram in Saudi Arabia whereas millions faithful gathering at Mount Arafat today to listen to Hajj sermon.

The latest Ghilaf has been made at seven million Saudi Riyal. Six hundred seventy kilograms pure silk, 120-kilogram gold, and one hundred kilogram silver have been used in it.

The Kiswah, The beautiful heavy silk cloth embellished with verses of the Holy Quran in golden embroidery. This is the day pilgrims leave for the plains of Mount Arafat during the Hajj.

The pilgrims started traveling towards Arafat after Fajr prayers where they will listen to Hajj speech to be delivered from Masjid-e-Nimra.

People will stay at Arafat till the call for Maghrib prayer.

Soon after Azaan-e-Maghrib, the pilgrims will leave for Muzdalfa where they will offer salah of Maghrib and Isha. They will spend the night in the open sky.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and includes a journey to Makkah to perform religious rituals described in the Holy Quran.
