The drama’s teasers have triggered a widespread public backlash, due to Faysal Quraishi’s pairing with much younger co-star Hina Afridi and his clean-shaven and funky look.

Audiences are not accepting the unrealistic chemistry between the lead pair. Many pointed out the visible age gap and criticized the industry’s tendency to cast middle-aged males with young female leads.

Fuel to the fire was Quraishi, who appeared in a flashy, Bollywood-style dance sequence alongside co-star Hina Afridi. But what was intended as a romantic, youthful portrayal has triggered criticism on social media.

The criticism indicates that people desired a more mature, content-rich narrative from the legendary actor rather than some scandalous Bollywood-type dazzling, immature romance.
