Gobi Gosht is a classic dish of tender meat and flavorful cauliflower, Frequently cooked by South Asian families. Today I’m going to share my grandmother’s recipe of Gobi Gosht. My Grandparents relocated from Jaipur India to Sindh Pakistan, she also brings so much flavour and taste with her from India to Pakistan. here is one small piece from her treasure of recipes.
INGREDIENTS
- Mutton 500 gm
- Gobi/Cauliflower Medium size(cut into small pieces)
- Onions 2 medium (make a paste)
- Tomatoes 3 medium (make a paste)
- Yoghurt 90 gram
- Ginger garlic paste3 tbsp
- Oil 1/2cup
- Salt ( as per your taste)
- Chili powder 1/2 tsp
- Whole black peppercorns 6-8
- Cloves 3-4
- Black cardamom 1
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2tsp
- Green chilies 2-3
- Fresh coriander leaves 3 tbsp chopped
Preparation
Add onion paste in hot oil and make it light golden then add meat, ginger garlic paste, and salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, black peppercorn. cloves, big cardamom and cumin seeds with yoghurt. stair on high flame for 5 minutes then add tomato paste stair a little, now add with 3-4 cups of water and let it cook till the meat is almost fully done. Add the cauliflower and fry for 5 minutes, add 2 green chillies, cover and cook on medium heat until the cauliflower is done. add garam masala powder, and fresh coriander leaves, Cover and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
