Devastating rain drowns Karachi, death strikes over 12 in Karachi

The difficulties of the Karachi are still unsolved by the higher authorities which failed to handle the rain emergency. resulting in the drowning of the whole city besides the loss of valuable lives of 12 civilians throughout the last two days, reported by ary news.

The continuous torrential rainfall which began on Saturday morning has created a dangerous condition in Karachi.

The largest rainfall was reported in

  • Surjani Town with 150.6mm,
  • Gulshan-e-Hadeed with 149mm,
  • Airport With 126mm,
  • Landhi with 117.5mm rainfall was recorded.

The city’s government is found nowhere in getting any production agencies for preserving people’s lives and seepage of water stored on most of the streets and central roads of Karachi.

12 civilians lost their lives throughout the last two days of heavy rainfall, majorly due to electrocution following the lack of safety standards by the power supply company,” K-Electric”.

It is appropriate to be considered here that the death losses grows up to 30 in two weeks which is to be blamed for K-Electric officials for not doing pre-rain measures as the electricity poles shifted to the net of losses.

Furthermore, the residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Federal B Area, P&T Colony, Chaudhry Khaliquz Zaman, and Dehli Colony were also facing hours-long power outage.
